CompanionBooked

For vet techs, RVTs and veterinary assistants

Callbacks done between rooms,
not after the last client.

CompanionBooked handles veterinary technician client communication from your practice's number: texts, photos and pickup updates from the staff app. Intake forms and histories arrive before the exam, and every thread is saved to the pet's record in your PIMS.

  • Texts from the practice line, never a cell
  • Histories before exams
CompanionBooked's Labs tab with the day's callbacks: normal results already texted to clients by the techs between rooms, one more ready to send and a DVM call left.

Live in 14 daysNo contract. No setup fee.

  • Forms before exams
  • Parking-lot check-in
  • Household pets linked
  • Pickup updates by text
  • Pay links sent at discharge
  • No personal cell

A tech's day, room to room

Fewer callbacks after close, more time in the room

Request a demo

Room 2 has a cat in for a recheck, room 3 is waiting on a blood draw, and three pet parents have texted the desk asking whether a limp or a rash is normal. Yesterday's normal bloodwork callbacks sit on a sticky note until close. Here is how texting, forms and the drafted SOAP note change that day.

A tech's shift right now

Before CompanionBooked: a legal pad of yesterday's normal bloodwork results still to phone, a pink slip about Mochi licking her incision, and a note to call before close.

Your rollout

Set up around your appointments, not after them

Setup is ours. Training fits between your rooms.

Texts and forms for the techs in CompanionBooked, with the normal-results text for a senior dog's bloodwork open for approval.

We draft your pickup, normal-results and post-op texts with your DVMs, and build the new-client, surgery consent and boarding forms your techs use today.

The tech's day

Four jobs that stop piling up

  • New client

    Forms done early

A new puppy is booked for 10:00. The intake form went out by text when they booked, so vaccines, diet and the previous vet's name are signed and on the record by 9. You start the exam with the history, and nobody holds a clipboard.

    • Surgery consent signed at home the night before
    • Boarding forms filed to the pet's record
Ziggy's new puppy checklist in CompanionBooked, signed by text at 8:41 a.m.: vaccines so far, diet and previous vet on the record before his 10:00 exam.
  • Normal labs

    Results sent without a call

When your DVMs okay it, a tech texts normal results from the practice number instead of playing phone tag. Questions come back to the shared thread for whoever's free.

    • Saved texts for normal bloodwork and fecals
    • Questions routed to the DVM when needed
Rosie's senior CBC and chem panel, all in range and okayed by Dr. Holt, texted to Jake by a tech from the practice number.
  • Parking lot

    Arrivals you know about early

A pet parent texts HERE from the parking lot with an anxious dog. The desk sees it, the tech knows which room is free, and the dog can come straight in through the side door. Booking rules also stop a sick visit from taking a short vaccine slot.

    • Arrival texts show up for the whole team
    • Booking rules keep each visit in the right length slot
The treatment board with Winston's owner texting HERE from the parking lot, Room 3 free and a tech meeting him at the side door, above the day's patients by step.
  • Discharge

Discharge without the wait at the desk

The discharge talk is done, but the pet parent waits ten minutes at the counter to pay. Send a pay link by text from the room instead. They pay by card or Apple Pay walking out to the car, and wellness plans bill each month without anyone keying a card.

    • A pay link by text, paid by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay
    • Wellness plan members billed monthly from a card on file
A pay link texted from the exam room after discharge, paid with Apple Pay from the car five minutes later.

Also for techs

  • Spanish texts when preferred
  • Refill requests for DVM okay
  • Voicemails you can read
  • One-tap dialing to pet parents
  • Day-after surgery texts
  • Reminders stop when a pet dies

The drafted SOAP notes are close enough that I edit and sign them before the next room. My evenings changed.

Normal bloodwork goes out by text between check-ins now. I haven't stayed late for callbacks in weeks.

I used to text post-op updates from my own phone. Now they come from the clinic number and stay on file.

New-client forms are signed before they arrive, so our exams start on the pet, not on paperwork.

Tech FAQs

Tech questions, answered

Try photos or bloodwork to narrow the list to those answers.

6 questions

Is my own number shown?

No, each text you send from the staff app carries your practice's number, and any reply goes to the shared inbox.

Do my texts stay on the pet's record?

Yes, each thread, photo and form is saved on the pet parent's file and synced to the pet's chart in your PIMS for the next visit.

What if a pet parent has no app?

Texts reach any phone, so nobody needs the app. Pay links and forms open in the phone's browser.

Do normal results need the vet?

Your DVMs decide. If they okay it, a tech can text the result.

Can I text a pet parent photos or video?

Yes, photos and short videos send from the staff app, and pet parents can send theirs back, like a video of a limp.

Will it run on my own phone?

Yes, the staff app runs on iPhone and Android, so the inbox, calls and texts go with you between rooms. Desk computers work too.
