SMS Terms

Last updated October 29, 2026

These SMS terms cover texts from two sources: CompanionBooked itself, and vet practices that text from our software. They also explain opting in and opting out. Read them together with our privacy policy and terms of service.

Who texts you

Our team texts people who ask about CompanionBooked or request a demo and say texting is fine. You'll get the call confirmed, a heads-up shortly before it, answers to your questions by text, and follow-ups about our service for vet practices.

The rest come from vet practices, which use CompanionBooked's software to reach pet parents. A practice's texts are sent in its name, not ours: reminders before appointments, confirmations, vaccine and wellness due dates, a text back after a missed call, requests for a review, and check-ins after a visit. Each practice picks the messages and their timing; our software just delivers them.

Saying yes

Texts from CompanionBooked begin after you give us a mobile number (on the website, while booking a call, or on a call with our team) and agree to be texted. If you message us first, our reply arrives as a text.

Each practice gets its own consent from you for its texts, perhaps when you book a visit, complete a form, or phone or message the practice. Practices on CompanionBooked must only text pet parents who've given legally required consent.

The number you give has to be your own, or one you're allowed to use.

You can turn down texts and still buy anything we sell. Practices on our software may not require marketing texts before treating a pet or making a sale.

Frequency

Message frequency varies. Your appointments, your pets' reminder dates, any conversation you're having with us or the practice, and any follow-ups you opted into all affect how many arrive.

Charges

Message and data rates may apply. Normal charges from your mobile plan cover any texts you send or get, and CompanionBooked adds none of its own.

Stopping texts

Texting STOP back to a sender ends its texts to you. Replying QUIT, END, CANCEL or UNSUBSCRIBE has the same effect, as does any other reasonable request to the sender made by email or phone. After one text confirming the opt-out, that sender goes quiet until you opt in again.

Each opt-out covers only the sender you replied to: one practice going quiet doesn't silence another practice or us, and opting out of our texts leaves your practice's texts running. To get a sender's texts again, text START to it.

Help

Sending HELP as a reply to any of these texts gets you help. Our inbox at sales@companionbooked.com takes questions too. A practice can also answer questions about its own texts directly.

Delays

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Weak signal, a phone problem or a carrier issue can hold a text up or stop it arriving, and those are outside our control.

Privacy

Your mobile number and your yes to texts are used as our privacy policy describes; neither is ever handed to another company for its marketing.

The practice's own privacy notice also applies to the texts it sends you.

Updates

When these SMS terms change, the "Last updated" date above changes with them.
